Caltex Strike in Cambodia

Caltex/Chevron workers walked off the job at seventeen Caltex gas stations in the Phnom Penh
On the 12th May 2014 at 7:00am this morning Caltex/Chevron workers walked off the job at seventeen Caltex gas stations in the Phnom Penh. This represents 95% of the company’s stations in the country's capital, which service the city’s population of approximately two million people.

These workers, represented by CLC affiliate, the Cambodian Food and Service Workers Federation (CFSWF), are demanding an increase in the minimum wage to $160 per month – a wage that will satisfy basic needs.
 
Workers and their representatives say that the strike will continue until their demand for $160 per month is met.
