It is with the deepest of regret that SIGTUR notes the recent death of Comrade MK Pandhe, former President of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions(CITU). Cde Pandhe was a champion for the working class in India and for working class struggle worldwide. He devoted his life to the working class and his legacy will live on. 

Comrade Pandhe was instrumental in SIGTUR's development as a progressive network of trade unions and trade union organisations working for the advancement of the working class in the global south. Although battling cancer, he chose to continue to work for the benefit of workers in India and worldwide right to the end. 

Even to the last he put the interests of others before his own.

Comrade Pandhe was a comrade and he was our friend.

Our sympathies and best wishes are extended to his family and to his comrades in the CITU.
